When I realized the answer, or rightly said, when God gave me the answer to this question I almost rolled on the floor with laughter. God hides the obvious right out in the open so none of us can see it!

First God tells us that He is the Father of Jesus and then in order that we might test ourselves, whether we believe Him or not, He includes a lineage of a man: not once, but twice!

What does a lineage of any man have to do with the lineage of Christ?

Well, because Jesus said that he was “Son of man” there is some reason to list a lineage. But let me say this, “The only lineage of any importance at all is that from Abraham to David.

In Mathew it is clearly said Jesus was the son of David and therefore the lineage stops with David. It is true that the lineage of David to Joseph is included, but if Jesus was the son of David as Scripture says then the lineage from David to Joseph means nothing.

The same can be said of the lineage from Adam to Abraham. Abraham is the father of all the children of God. If someone is born of the Spirit they become citizens of Israel. Not of the Israel of this world, but Spiritual Israel where the King is Jesus Christ. It is of no more importance to include the lineage of Abraham in the lineage of Jesus than to include clay in the lineage of Adam. Adam began with clay and the children of God began with Abraham, so the lineage to Abraham is of no spiritual importance.

I believe that is why the lineage of Abraham is included. It confuses those who do not have eyes to see and ears to hear. This confusion persists even with those who have eyes to see and ears to hear until they look and listen! God said Jesus would come from David’s own body (2 Sam 7:12) and he did.

Most Christians think that Jesus is God because Jesus only said what his father told him to say (John 12:49-50 NIV) For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.” So those verses that seem to indicate that Jesus is God, like John 8:58 (NIV) “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” are really God speaking through Jesus.

To get back to my original statement I thought it was hilarious that I had not realized that the lineage of Jesus was only from Abraham to David!

Calvin said that it is only God that saves and there is nothing mortal man can do for salvation. On the surface that seems correct. It is true that only God saves. The question Calvin raises in my mind is “how does God save?”. If Calvin was right then Jesus was wrong, or at least that is how it appears to me.

(Mat 28:18-20 NIV)  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

If Calvin was right then no one can make disciples, baptizing has no worth, and neither does teaching. If it is only God that chooses then nothing matters. One would not be condemned for sin, because sin is what man does and nothing man does matters.

If only Calvin could have been born before Jesus so that Jesus would have known that sin didn’t matter! If he understood Calvinism he would have known that he didn’t have to be sacrificed for the sin of the world, because sin doesn’t really condemn a man: only God saves and He saves those that He wants to save. Because all men sin and He saves some of them then sin really has nothing to do with salvation. Would He save some because they try not to sin? That would mean that man would have something to do with his own salvation. Well, according to Calvin that is not possible.

If Calvin was correct then of what benefit to anyone would teaching his doctrine be? Would it be of any benefit to anyone to teach about Jesus or anything for that matter?

If a man is to be condemned and there is nothing he, or she can do about it then it would only be cruel to teach about God to them. Why rub salt in the wound?

We call ourselves Christians because we say we follow him. He said that we should make disciples. If you do not believe it is possible to make disciples then in effect you are saying Jesus was wrong. You do right to call yourself “Calvinist” because you do not believe Christ and you prove yourself wrong by teaching Calvinism because if Calvin were correct it would not matter what you taught, or even if you taught. It would even be better not to teach.

Do you teach from pride of what you think you know, or do you teach because of your love for your fellow man? What love could there possibly be to teach the unsaved that there really is no hope for them.

I know that you are thinking that I should not be saying these things about you, but if you and Calvin are right it doesn’t really matter: does it? And if Jesus is right nothing else matters. Well, I might have hurt your pride, but then why do you have any pride?

Who do you really follow Calvin, or Jesus? What do you teach “Calvinism or “Christianity”? If Calvin says one can not make disciples and Jesus commanded us do so then the two disciplines are not compatible.

Before you start to throw stones at me, look in the mirror and ask yourself, ‘Am I a “Calvinist or a “Christian”? If your answer is “Calvinist” then by all means start throwing. Let’s talk about this.

April 14, 2009

In my last post I was attempting to explain the beasts of revelations as I understand them and I stopped at Revelation 13:9, so let me pick up where I left off.

(Rev 13:9 NIV)  He who has an ear, let him hear.

If you are a follower of Jesus you have Spiritual Ears and you can hear Spiritual sounds, but if you have not turned to God, admitted that you are flawed and unworthy to live with a perfect God you can not hear and therefore can not understand anything I or anyone else may say about the Bible.

(Rev 13:10 NIV)  If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.

This verse along with verse nine reveals to those who have an ear enabling them to hear that Satan’s governments are in charge and the things that Satan wants to do will be allowed by God. Christians would like to think that God will take care of us and rescue us from all evil, but He never said we would live a safe and secure life in this time, but we will when we are resurrected.

(Rev 13:11 NIV)  Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.

This second beast is I believe symbolic of money. Both beasts are abstract symbols and are not beasts in any way shape or form which is different from the dragon in verse 13:1. Though the dragon is a beast it is not referred to as a beast: we are told straight way it is Satan.

This beast comes out of the earth, meaning it did not originate in Heaven: it came from man not God.

This second beast has “two horns like a lamb” and I believe horns are symbolic of the seat of power. In governments horns represent the highest office and here they represent government and the people. Money has no power unless both the people and the government believe in it. Both the people and the government decide the worth of our money. If the people decide that a dollar is not worth a dollar any longer then it truly is not and the government has the power to make a dollar worth more or less in value.

Lambs do not have horns and I think this refers to the Lamb of God. The Lamb of God can save life and money also seems as though it can save life. One can not receive treatment for any aliment without money. One can not have insurance, services of a doctor, or medicine without money. Even those who receive treatment when they have no money would not if someone was not paying the bills for that treatment.

Money can be said to “speak like a dragon” when people believe it will buy the things that only God can supply. People think that it can buy health, peace, happiness and anything else they want, but it really can not. Money “speaks” like Satan.

(Rev 13:12 NIV)  He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.

Money gets its power or authority from the government and governments use money to control the citizens of the country. If those who are the authorities want everyone to stop smoking then they just raise the taxes on tobacco to the point where no one can afford to smoke. They have not stopped anyone from smoking and yet they have made it so expensive that no one smokes: so they have stopped smoking. What they have done with tobacco they can do with anything that they wish to control. “O”, by the way it is always done for the good of the people! In this case money has exercised the authority of the government (The beast that came out of the sea) and because nonsmokers think it a good thing they worship (To regard with ardent or adoring esteem or devotion) the government for stopping smoking.

Islam, the head whose fatal wound has been healed, uses the money that oil provides to force subjects in Islamic nations to worship that government and anything else they want worshiped.

(Rev 13:13 NIV)  And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.

It seems that money performs great and miraculous signs, because without money everything that the world views as the wonderful accomplishments of man would not have been possible. There would be no airplanes, cars, research, or anything, but of course there would be little or no abortion, prostitution, gambling, etc.

At the end of this age God will purify this earth with fire. Fire is used to symbolize the ability to purify and to save. A live coal is used to purify and take the guilt away from Isaiah (Isaiah 6:6&7). If a group of Christians give money to build a large church where God can be worshiped and people saved, will the people of the world say God built the church or will they say money built it? The building just like revival meetings and television shows are all in full view of men and not possible without money.

(Rev 13:14 NIV)  Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

The whole world thinks that we should be governed by man, because governments can use money to create armies to protect the citizens and it can set up social security programs to take care of those who are too old to work, and programs to pay for medical care and so forth and we are greatly deceived.

As I said Islam is the head that was wounded and recovered. Islam has much money and it has used it to create a theocracy. Notice that what was once referred to has only a head in verse three is now the whole beast.

(Rev 13:15 NIV)  He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

Breath is symbolic of life and money gives life to Islam. If you do not worship Islam those of Islam will kill you.

(Rev 13:16-17 NIV)  He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Money has the power to force everyone to do anything it wants. By that I mean those who control money can force anyone. If you want to eat, or be warm, or remain clothed in this world you must pay. If you do not pay taxes on your property the government will evict you. Those who put their faith in money and governments will bring forth (Also a definition of didomi- the word translated as receive) the mark of the beast.

As I said in “HERE IS THE NUMBER OF MAN” a previous post, the number of man is six. The number of man is the same number of the beast and we all start out with that number, but we can receive the number of Christ which is the number “one” and be made a seven. A whole new number but if one puts their faith in money or governments or anything of this world their number will remain or be brought forth into the light as a six.

(Rev 13:18 NIV)  This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666.

I said in my post on the number of man that six is just said three times for emphasis like holy is said three times for the same reason.

I think that all of the world and everything in it has the number of six. God has yet to enter into His rest and that will be on the seventh day. Everything here is in the sixth day and if it does not have the number of Christ making it a complete and new number it will remain a six and be destroyed.

Well, anyway that is how I see the beasts in Revelation. How do you see them?

April 13, 2009

I started this line of thought with the question “What do you Believe in”, but it has melded into my thoughts of the Beasts spoken of in Revelations. That is the way thoughts about God’s Word develop. One thought leads to another, to another, to another.

I made the statement that all governments are an abomination to God and that is difficult to understand without much study. One of the reasons it is difficult to understand is one has to unlearn what the world says about governments before one can learn the truth about them. Whatever government one lives under seems the correct way of governing, because that is the propaganda that the person is subject to. The propaganda always ends with this system isn’t perfect but it is the best system, or how do you think the people should be governed. Then flaws in another system that do not exist in this system are pointed out. Truth is no worldly system of government is the perfect system so one can always use that method to defend any particular type of government. It brings to mind the question, ‘What is the proper way to rob a bank?’ it doesn’t matter how one robs a bank as it is always wrong to do so.

As I said in my previous post All governments are an abomination to God. Perhaps I should have said, ‘All worldly forms of governments are an abomination to God’. The only legal duty of a government is to protect the citizens. That is to punish the guilty among the citizens and to protect against other countries that would enslave the citizens. But because all men are flawed they put their own interests before the people’s interests and we are enslaved and must do what ever those in charge have decided.

God has chosen a King to rule our lives and any attempt to appoint someone else is, in my view, a sin. If everyone would subject themselves to the King of Kings there would be peace on earth. However God does not make anyone subject to Jesus. That is a decision that each individual must make for themselves. Then after I made that decision I still voted for a man to be my master. Yea, I did not immediately understand. Yea, I am not the brightest bulb in any display.

Governing is the right of God, but Satan wants to be our god and Satan is the prince of this world so it is only logical that he tries to govern. As I pointed out in my previous post there are seven basic forms of government and the dragon in Revelation 12:3 has seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. We are told that it is a sign and we are told in verse 9 the dragon is Satan.

Notice how similar the dragon or Satan is to the beast that comes out of the sea in verse 13:1. Both have seven heads and ten horns, but the dragon has 7 crowns and the beast has 10! The dragon comes from Heaven (Verses 12:7-9), but the beast comes out of the sea. It seems to me that when anything comes out of the earth it is symbolic of coming from man. God my use the word sea, or island, or mountains, or some other word, but if it is symbolic it means from mankind.

This is why it is so difficult to explain what one thinks Scripture means. One thought melds into another and if the other person has not reached a similar conclusion about the symbols that God is using it just becomes too confusing. So doubt everything that I am saying and test it with the Word. You know that I am only a man and therefore it is a given that I am wrong about some of this.

Well, to continue I think heads represent types of governments and horns represent the highest office of governments and crowns represent those who hold those offices.

The beast has 3 more crowns because with Democracy there are the people, the legislative and the judicial that are suppose to be in charge and yet none of them are really in charge! The dragon has only seven crowns because he is the one in charge and he knows it: or actually I should say that he believes it.

How about thinking about the verses in chapter 13 with the idea that all governments are an abomination to God?

(Rev 13:1 NIV)  And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.

All governments come from man just as the beast comes from the sea. Democracy is a blasphemous name the same as the names of the six other governments. They are blasphemous because they are an attempt of man to govern himself: leaving God out.

(Rev 13:2 NIV)  The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.

The dragon gave his power, throne and great authority to the beast. Do not governments have great power and authority? God may allow Satan to give his power to governments, but I don’t believe God would directly give power to something that would take His glory.

(Rev 13:3 NIV)  One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.

It seems to me that that would be theocracy. Or more clearly Islamic rule which has made quite a recovery. I personally am astonished that anyone would follow Islamic theocracy.

(Rev 13:4 NIV)  Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?”

Who can make war against government? Can you visualize bringing this government to its knees? It has become a government ruled by the rich and yet the people still choose (Between only two possibilities) which of the rich will be their master. You see that all of the heads meld into one beast and that is Satan.

(Rev 13:5 NIV)  The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months.

Forty-two months is the time of the Gentiles. It started when God let Israel be overcome and it will end probably when Jesus comes back, but perhaps God will reestablish Israel before then. I haven’t given much thought to that so I do not have a clear opinion.

(Rev 13:6 NIV)  He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.

What government doesn’t blaspheme and slander God’s name? The leaders of this government claim to be believers and then vote to kill babies! I am afraid they have now gone too far, as they are trying to stop Israel from defending its self. Any one that studies the Bible knows that is a sin that God will not let any nation get away with.

(Rev 13:7 NIV)  He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

It is easy to see that Islam has and is conquering the saints and almost as easy to see democracy is doing the same. It is also obvious that everyone is subject to government in one form or another. This democracy claims there must be separation of Church and state. Do you not realize that we are the Church? And what can we do about the masters that we chose? We make threats and we complain and they laugh behind our backs and continue making laws that separate Church and state.

(Rev 13:8 NIV)  All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast–all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.

Well I know it will anger many, but when this government is honored, and even in the Church of God it is honored, it is worshiped (worship – To regard with ardent or adoring esteem or devotion.). Though I once did exalt this government now my name is written in the book of life and my king is the Lamb of God. I know that I am a subject of the King of Kings and that is the only government that will prevail and the only one I have any fondness for.

Well, let me stop here because this has already gotten too long for one post. In the next post I will try to explain the beast that comes out of the earth (Verse 13:11).

Just to give you some advance warning I believe that beast to be symbolic of money.

April 11, 2009

I stopped writing about belief in the first post when I got to governments. It seems that many people in this world believe in governments. Most of my Christian brothers in this country believe in this government. Just before the Forth of July every church that I have attended has a service devoted to this country. I have to stay home that Sunday because they exalt this country and those who founded it. If they would only apply Romans 13:1&2 to this country there would be no celebration!

This country was formed in rebellion to God and the Founding Fathers lead that rebellion!

I anger my brothers when I point this out! Shouldn’t they be glad they understand, instead of mad?

When I realized this country was formed in rebellion to God it freed me to think about and understand all governments. Here is something that can not be understood with out spending a lot of time with the Spirit that lives in all Christians. Those that do not have the Spirit can not even begin to understand this.

All governments are an abomination to God.

After spending much time trying to understand everything about God that is possible for me to understand I realized this. The God that made everything that there is wants to be the One that takes care of us. He wants to lead us and He wants to be the ultimate authority in each one of our lives. In other words God wants to be our government. That is what governments try to do, but the problem is governments are controlled by men and men have their own wants and desires and they put them first. God has no selfish motives (He already owns everything) so only God is able to govern in our best interest. When God chose a people to reveal Himself to the world He lead them through the desert, fed them with manna, and clothed them (their clothing did not wear out). And after all of that they wanted a “man” as their country’s ultimate authority: just like we do! Well there is one difference, Israel wanted God to choose their authority and we want to choose the authorities ourselves.

Think about this form of government with truth guiding your thoughts. We are told and we tell others that we are free and that the people control the government. Is that really true? As I understand Democracy the only power the people have is to vote some man or woman into an office of authority, after that we must live with that man’s decisions. To put it as Spiritually plain as I can we choose a “man” as our master. How do you think that makes our Heavenly Father feel?

I know that Christians say “Pray to God so He will guide you when you vote”, but does He? Do you hear a voice that says vote for Mr. Right? If you think that He guided your choice without an audible sign then did you always vote for the winner? Do you know who God will choose so that you can vote for them?

Surely you can see that you do not control what happens. After you choose a “man” to be your master you have no more say in the matter. You might say it is wrong to reward those who have stolen so much from the people that it has bankrupted the whole nation, but you can not really do anything about it. Legally you can only lament about it and tell each other to vote the “man” out of office, but you can not change a thing. The “man” you vote into office the next time will do worse things to you.

I will go no farther pointing out the flaws in this government. Instead let me say a few words about governments and the book of Revelation.

(Rev 12:3 NIV)  Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads.

We know that the Dragon is Satan (Verse 9) and we should also know that the seven heads are symbolic. The number seven is symbolic of something that is complete.

But in this case I believe it is also symbolic of governments.

There are seven basic forms of governments. What seems like other forms are mixtures of the seven (Boy I’m going to get augments on that statement).

Monarchy – rule or the power of government in the hands of an individual who has inherited the role and expects to bequeath it to the descendants.
Despotism – the form of rule wherein a single leader rules the entire population and all his or her subjects are considered to be his or her slaves.
Dictatorship – rule by an individual without hereditary succession, who has complete power over the country.
Oligarchy – the form of government where a small group has the power to govern or rule.
Plutocracy – a form of government, which is run by the rich.
Democracy – a form of government, which allows people to choose the representatives amongst themselves who are given the rights to govern.
Communist – a form of Government in which the state is governed by a one-party system.
Theocracy – a form of government, which implies rule by a religious elite.

There are also horns, and crowns that are spoken of and the beast that comes out of the sea has the same number of heads and horns, but three more crowns.

I think that I will stop here and let you think about what I have said so far and then I will write a post about what I think the horns, crowns and the two beasts mean.

April 8, 2009

First let me say that there is no man or woman that truly believes in nothing. There may be those that profess they do not believe in anything, but in order to believe that, they must believe in their own mental abilities to understand that view. So if you are one who claims you do not believe in anything you are wrong, because you believe in yourself.

In other words everyone believes that they are right about their views of what they believe. If they thought they were wrong they would change what they believe, though they might not admit it to others and in their own mind they would understand their error and begin to look for a belief that they can live with.

Most of the time I write about what I understand about God’s Word, which is the Bible. As I learn more about God I see more sin that others are committing. I have found that it is easer to see the sin of others than for me to see or understand my own. If anyone is studying in truth and they see the sin of others it is only right to examine themselves to determine if they are also guilty.

These are depressing times. The whole world is in turmoil over money. I see money as a tool of Satan and I ask myself if money is too important to me. It is a difficult question that deserves an honest answer. The basic question is “Which has more power God or money?”

As a Christian my answer comes quickly “God does”, but to those who do not yet know God their answer is “money”. That is a logical answer for anyone that does not even believe in a god.

Well actually everyone does believe in money. If that seems odd to you then grab a dollar and examine it. It is really only a fancy green piece of paper with a number printed on it. You must believe that others believe it is worth something and if they do not, it is not.

Money is an idol, but unlike any other idol it has power. If anyone is hungry and they have money they can use that money to slake their appetite. The same can be said for clothing, shelter, or even enjoyment. Do you see what I mean when I say money has power?

Because money has power many worship it. Not only money it’s self, but those who have an abundance of it receive worship; and only because they have it. How many people would admire Donald Trump if he lost all of his money?

After examining a dollar I still didn’t think that I believed in money, but then I examined a five dollar bill and had to admit that I believed it would purchase five times what the one dollar bill would and the only real difference was it has a different number on it. It is not that I believe it is more valuable than one dollar bill, but that I know others believe it, so it is five times more valuable, or said a slightly different way it has five times the power. And I had to admit to myself that I believed in the power of money.

That is why the world is in turmoil. This government has destroyed our economy and the rest of the world can see it. As I said earlier, it is easer to see the sin of others than to see your own and the same can be said of governments. The world is losing confidence in the dollar.

Where does money come from? Well that is easy to understand. It comes from governments, everyone of them has it’s own types of pieces of paper. I am going to stop here, because this is getting to long, so take a break and think about what I said and then let us think about governments: not just this one, but all governments.

Now if you think that what I have said is too simple, or too basic, for you to spend time thinking about it, let me say this, there are many people in this world that are more intelligent than I am. But I have seen, over and over, that they do not think about the basics enough and because they do not have their foundations correct they build their understandings on shifting sands. If I were to give advice there is none so important than one should understand the simple things in life.

Having said that there are some things that can not be understood. Of course God can not be understood, but then though He is basic, He is not simple. One thing that is simple but can not be understood is life! Man does not understand it and yet though we do not understand it some profess to know it just happened! And that comes from those who can not even define it!

If I said something that you do not agree with, I would be interested in your views. I will probably disagree with you, but it will be beneficial for all to look at what I have said from a different angle.
