MORE ABOUT THE TWO WITTNESSES.

I have been reading Genesis lately because I have been trying to find a better way of explaining the sin of eating from the tree in the middle of the garden. As I study, the Spirit that God has given me will sometimes point out something that I was not even considering. The teacher chooses the subject not the student.

When I read Gen 2:9 (NIV) “And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground–trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” I suddenly realized that the two trees were symbols of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit! They are the two witnesses and they are identified in the very first part of the first book in the Bible!

Jesus is the tree of life. There is no other way for man to acquire eternal life with God accept through Jesus. (John 14:6 NIV)  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the Holy Spirit.

(John 14:26 NIV)  But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

A teacher that is qualified to teach all things would have to know all things. Mankind had to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil before we could even know we are evil.

The two witnesses are symbolized as two olive trees in Zechariah. When God told Zechariah what they were He said, “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit”. That is the identity of the two witnesses hidden in the description, not by might nor by power is Jesus, the first witnesses and but by my Spirit is the second witnesses, the Holy Spirit.

(Gen 3:24 NIV)  After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

That sword is the Word of God and it will take the life of anyone who wants to eat from the tree of life. After that person admits that they deserve death for their deeds they are indeed slain, buried with Jesus, and raised a new being that can go in and out, past the sword. And then they can eat from the tree of life! Pity the one who will not plead guilty and admit they deserve death.

I have learned that the entire Bible fits together like a jigsaw puzzle. God told Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because it would result in their death: not because it was a sin to eat from the tree!

(Gen 2:16 NIV)  And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;

If they were free to eat from any tree in the garden then they were free to eat from both trees in the middle of the garden. Though it resulted in the death of all mankind it was not a sin against God to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

    You said: “And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;

If they were free to eat from any tree in the garden then they were free to eat from both trees in the middle of the garden. Though it resulted in the death of all mankind it was not a sin against God to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”

This “spirit” you are listening to teaches you to quote half a sentence of scripture and ignore the rest? The father of lies said, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” and you agree? The bible clearly teaches that the wages of sin is death yet you claim that “it was not a sin.”

Test the spirits! When the bible says “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; BUT you MUST NOT eat from that one tree” it means they were free to eat from any tree EXCEPT that one. Are you incapable of even basic grammar and simple logic? (You have argued that David committed adultery for the money, so there is a lot of cause for concern.)

1tim2:13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

Adam was formed first. Adam was naked first. This was a nonissue for the bible…there was no need for shame. Yet when Eve was deceived by the serpent, she became the first sinner. Eating from the tree which God commanded that they MUST NOT eat from was the first SIN. (and you are listening to the same deceiver.)

Exod20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”

This is one of the “10 commandments.” Are you also foolish enough to argue that it’s not really a “sin” for children to dishonor their parents and break this commandment – it just might result in an earlier death? You would have to make the same nonsense argument.

It is NOT the Holy Spirit who is teaching you…rather, you are submitting yourself to another kind of spirit. Put aside your foolish pride and submit yourself to the authority of scripture (which, by the way, teaches that you should submit yourself to the authority of a local church…even if the pastors and elders are all imperfect sinners just like you.) You are reckless with scripture and need the community of believers to correct you in your tendency toward error (if not flat out unbelief.)

You have to believe in Jesus to be saved, and at some point, you increasingly seem to be leaving the real Jesus behind…and denying the God who reveals Himself in scripture. While I would encourage you to find a reformed church that teaches, as Jesus taught, that you cannot come to Him unless God first enables you and that “it is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus”, at least listen to the church leaders where you are and stop leaning so much on your own understanding.

You seem to imagine that a “spirit” is giving you access to secret knowledge that other believers fail to obtain. This is foolishness. You are being tempted by your pride and are in great danger.

Yeh Astudent, why exactly did you quote half a sentence of Scripture? Did you want to make God’s Word bend towards your own theories and false teachings?

“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, BUT of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”” Genesis 2:16-17

And again: “BUT OF THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL YOU SHALL NOT EAT…”

You need to stop this now, or shut this blog down Astudent. You said you would change your ways, if you want to truly change, then like Charles said; submit to the authority of the Scriptures.

All you are doing here is promoting false teachings. This divides people, it causes them to sin, stumble and it is not helpful at all in the building up of the members of the body, you are not adding to God’s kingdom, but subtracting from it.

If you do not heed our warnings and change your ways, repenting of this foolishness, then you will stand before God condemned as a wolf, as a false teacher. You will be accountable to your actions.

  3. Susejevoli says:

Astudent, i think you need to understand the difference between the Holy Spirit teaching, and you speculating and assigning ‘new’ ideas to God’s Word that ‘seem’ to fit.

Just because you read something many times, and then a seemingly brilliant idea pops into your head, doesn’t mean it is from the Holy Spirit. Even if you think it testifies to the rest of Scripture.

Much like in this case, and other cases, we are AGAINST your ideas. Not merely because they are your ideas, but because there are major holes in it, and we also acknowledge your recklessness in dealing with Scripture previously. This is an indication that is probably isn’t from the Holy Spirit.

And if you want further testimony, i have passes this blog onto a couple of my friends and they are just as disturbed by your ideas. I think for the love of God, you definitely need to stop blogging. You are not in danger of just being a teacher, but in danger of being a FALSE TEACHER.

Go spend this time practicing how you can evangelize, there are good books on that, that if you sat down and spent the time and effort studying it, you WILL gain skills to evangelize. And while you’re at it, go read some Bible Commentaries, they will do you much good.

And much more for the kingdom of God.

  4. astudent says:

    Suzejevoli,

I used part of the sentence to make clear what I was saying. There is no rule that one must use all of a sentence every time one is trying to illustrate something and it is perfectly acceptable as long as it is not taken out of context and by the way, everyone does it.

There are some who will take even just one word, like “pas” and use it, even twist it to say it means something that it does not just to make their point. But if someone else would try to make a point by the same method and without twisting they are said to be listening to Satan! There is a double standard when that is attempted and it should be recognized.

To be as clear as I can, God did not say ‘you are free to eat from any tree in the garden “except” the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He said they were free to eat from any tree, “but” if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil it would kill them.

Notice that Charles understands that God would have said “except” if He meant “except” and he twists it to say I am incapable of understanding even basic grammar and simple logic! What a wonderful thing to say about someone; hey? And he does it with such Christian love! It adds so much to the study of Scripture! Doesn’t it! I am not making this up. His comment is right above yours.

Truth is these two verses prove free will (Gen 2:16-17 NIV) And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”

They were obviously free to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because God did not stop them! One can rightly say that God already knew they would eat from the tree. He even knew exactly when, how much, who and what influenced them, and well, He knew and knows everything.

Eating from the tree separated them from God and God knew it would, however God neither made them eat nor stopped them: He only warned them. Surely everyone can see that they had free will and it was the free will to be separated from God or not to be. That is the second death and they died to God when they ate. It is absolutely clear that it was their choice and they had the free will to make that choice.

Charles doesn’t want me to submit to the authority of the Scriptures. He wants me to submit to “his” authority so I will shut up. The Bible says we are to submit to the authorities that God appoints. However when those authorities are teaching that God is unjust I believe I have, not only the right to rebel against them, but the obligation to do so.

If Charles is the great teacher that he wants others to think he is then he should get a job where he works with his hands, making not only his own living, but sharing the little he makes with others and I can attest to the fact that one does not make very much when they work with their hands.

When you were reading what I say and using your own mind you thought me a pretty good student, but when you told others about me and listened to them they confused you.

Can’t you see that it is not Scripture that they care about? It is their pride, reputation, and the money they make that drives them to hate me.

God is proved right again (1 Tim 6:10 KJV) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

If there was no money there would be no schools, no teachers, and the Word would only be taught because of love for God and our fellow man. That is not to say all teach for money, but it sure muddies the waters. And do not let anyone tell you the word would not be taught without money! God may use men but He doesn’t need money to spread His word. Paul worked with his hands and made very little money and he did a pretty good job of spreading the Word.

(Isa 55:10 NIV) As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

The word of God comes from his mouth, not my mouth or the mouth of any man. Listen to the Spirit that is within you. Only consider what any man says as questions to ask the Spirit.

Susie, don’t you see that you are listening to false teachings? We are saved by the grace of God, because we believe in the son of God! Those who are bending your ear want you to think we are saved by what we teach, because I am supposed to be condemned by what I teach! Every man is flawed so if it is what we teach that condemns us we are all lost: that would include your teachers!

I have said this over and over, but one more time, I AM NOT A TEACHER. I AM A STUDENT. You don’t have to accept what I say. I would only hope you think about it and ask the Spirit within you any questions that you might have about anything that I say. If you ask your teachers they will only confuse you: as they have. They want to show me wrong only to show themselves right and they only use Scripture as a tool to accomplish their goals. Learning and proving Scripture is not their main goal. Getting rid of someone whose opinion of Scripture is making them look bad is their goal. Their methods show their goals. It is not Christian to attack someone personally when they are not attacking you!

If Charles were my teacher I would look for a different school and if that was not feasible I certainly would keep my mouth shut if I viewed anything differently than he does. I think that the bitterness that he shows in his comments will be directed toward anyone that would dare to say they believe him wrong. I could be wrong, but I don’t believe that person would have a chance in hell of graduating from his school.

It is a sad state of affairs when others try to stop Christians from voicing what they think Scripture says. If I am wrong God will stop me and maybe even punish me. If the Spirit within me would indicate to me that I should stop I would do so in a second, but it is man that is trying to stop me. It is neither man’s duty nor right to try to stop me. I have no double standard, I don’t make a dime from this blog, I must pay the expenses from my own pocket, and I am not trying to stop your teachers from teaching anything. I have nothing against your teachers. Though I think they are wrong, I hope they enjoy the prestige and the money. God can use even that to accomplish His goals!

You are a gifted student. I hear truth in your sharing. I too have been gifted but am not prepared to share. I wait on God but appreciate your words. Holy, Holy, Holy has deep understanding for me that I will not share here but I will shae that it proves out your theory on the number of the beast. I am sure you have pondered the ramifications of your theory. THe Body Of Christ is near!
