The Generation that sees the coming of Christ

This was written by Joseph Lule and as astudent I thought it would be right to post it as an article as well as a comment: for those who do not follow the comments.

The Generation that sees the coming of Christ

A generation is pronounced as jen-ẽr-ā´shun and it is got from Latin generatio, from genero, which means “beget”.
It may be also called “circle,” “generation,” hence, “age,” “period,” “cycle”: “many generations” (Deu_32:7); (b) The people of any particular period or those born about the same time:
When the disciples came to show Jesus the buildings of the temple and asked Him about the sign of His coming and the end of age, He gave what most people say is the Olivet prophesy as stated in Matthew 24:4-34 and at verse 34 He said that `Truly I say to you, in no way will this generation pass away until all these things have occurred.’
What Jesus was saying is that all the things He pronounced will be witnessed by a particular generation and that generation would not pass away until all those things pronounced have occurred.

By the way it should be noted that when He prophesies about the future it is not about dates but about generations as stated in
“Exodus 3:15 And God said to Moses again, You shall say this to the sons of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial from generation to generation;
Exodus 20:5 you shall not bow to them, and you shall not serve them; for I am Jehovah your God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those that hate Me;”

Just a rider God visits the iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third and on the fourth generation,

In the book of Enoch it is stated that Enoch was called to pronounce judgment against the Angels that took the daughters of men and made them wives as written also in the book of Genesis 6:2 where it says that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were good, and they took wives for themselves from all those whom they chose.

If you look at the generations from Enoch to Noah (Gen: 5:19-25 Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech and Noah) you will notice that it is four generations and as stated God says in Exodus 20:5 you shall not bow to them, and you shall not serve them; for I am Jehovah your God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those that hate Me.

You will notice that the iniquity at the time of Noah was so great that God’s Spirit could not strive with man and that Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day long. And Jehovah repented that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart.
That generation grieved God and God decided to destroy them by use of water and remember it was fourth generation from the time of Enoch when the sons of God saw the daughters of men and they took wives for themselves and Jude says that in Jud 1:6 and those angels not having kept their first place, but having deserted their dwelling-place, He has kept in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of a great Day.

By the way this generation that would see His coming and experience the tribulation is the same generation that would be fallen, to the extent that it would be like as in the days of Noah as stated in Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noah, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man.

According to the bible in Psalms 90:10 says “The days of our years are seventy; and if any by strength live eighty years, yet their pride is labor and sorrow; for it soon passes, and we fly away.”
Now Jesus says in Mat 24:-32-34 But learn the parable of the fig tree: When its branch becomes tender and it puts out leaves, you know that the summer is near; so also you, when you see all these things, know that it is near at the doors. Truly I say to you, In no way will this generation pass away until all these things have occurred.
Jesus was again giving away His secret that this generation that will see His coming and experience tribulation will also see the return of the Jews to modern Israel which is always described in the bible as a fig tree that has become tender and put out its leaves.
By the way the fourth generation that turned away from God in rebellion might be the baby boomers who are defined as those born during the post world war II baby boom and if you look at it most became in the 1960s relatively large numbers of teenagers and young adults.
If you look at it, this is the generation that was born when also Israel was born and if you look at the bible a generation is a lifetime of seventy years and most of them are still alive and are nearly retiring and hitting seventy years.
The bible says that this generation will be as the generation that was described that lived as in the days of Noah and in the days of Lot.
These generation is described in the bible in Rom 1:28-32 And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity, covetousness, malice, being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, proud, braggarts, devisers of evil things, disobedient to parents, without discernment, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful, who knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also approve those practicing them.

Which is confirmed by an article of the baby boomers in the time magazine 1966 man of the year that stated:
“Never have the young been left more completely to their own devices. No adult can or will tell them what earlier generations were told: this is God, that is Good, this is Art, that is Not Done.”

You may ask how came baby boomers would become a fourth generation, you will have to go back three generations back and this would be said to have been from the years 1750-1900.
Why, 1750’s generation is the one that experienced the industrial revolutions, social and class upheavals that led to the raise of atheism, materialism, and rationalism, which formed the foundation of today modernism.

It can be said that today post-modern world owes its ideas and existence from that generation that experienced the industrial revolutions and social and class upheavals.

Take an example that generation experienced astonishing changes in mechanization, transport, agricultural science, power generation, transportation, communication, including a process of globalization, spearheaded by imperialism and huge migrations within and between nations, improvements in weapons technology, and political ferment that would produce liberalism, socialism, and communism.

Please note that according to Encyclopedia of world history; Age of Revolution and Empire, in the 1760s–90s were as a low point in religious adherence and belief in the United States, with enlightened deism influential among elites; churches and personal morals disrupted by war; and politics, commerce, and westward migration competing with religion for popular interest.

This is what led to the Great awakenings which was led by the Holy Spirit and led to the conversion of many.

What I may trying to say is that during this time there was a great fall and a lot of people led rebellious lives and because of who God is and was, He brought a revival that was known as the Great awakenings so that His people would not perish and also note there were people who refused the gospel and rebelled and it is this first generation that leads to a fourth generation that is known as the baby boomers.

Please also note that according to American history neither awakening had as much of a numerical effect on the churches as their promoters hoped and claimed. What they did in effect was a revolution in how churches operated in a diverse, democratic society. Protestants became open to experiment and were determined to grow in national influence, making evangelicalism the powerful movement it remains today.

It also the time when Pope Pius IX (1792-1878) promulgated the Marian dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin and convoked the Vatican I Council, which declared the dogma of papal infallibility that establishes that the pope, when speaking on matters of faith and morals, is infallible in his teachings.

Also according to this time during the French Revolution “A young actress, with a white robe and red bonnet and armed with the spear of knowledge, then passed down the aisle with the crowds chanting “Thou, Holy Liberty, come dwell in this temple, be the goddess of the French.” It was not long afterward that over 2,000 other churches in France were also “transformed” into Temples of Reason. In May 1794 an inscription was added to the front of Notre-Dame: “The French people A reproduction of a painting shows Maximilien Robespierre being interrogated before being executed on July 27, 1794. recognize the Supreme Being and the immortality of the soul,” and “Temple of Reason” was then changed to become the “Temple of the Supreme Being.”

All these is to show Christians the start of the upheavals that engulfed societies as they rebelled against God and laid a foundation of today societies that are godless and have hatred of God. This was the first generation that knew the word of God and openly rebelled against God that leads to the infamous fourth generation and their children.

Please note God will visit the iniquity of the fathers up-to the fourth generation and from there are on they are destroyed completely as stated in the bible God visits the iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third and on the fourth generation.

Please see that when Abraham was given a promise of the land, God told him that in the fourth generation they shall come again for at that time the iniquity of the Amorites was not yet full as stated in Gen 15:13-16 And He said to Abram, Knowing you must know that your seed shall be an alien in a land not theirs; and they shall serve them. And they shall afflict them four hundred years; and I also will judge that nation whom they shall serve; and afterward they shall come out with great substance. And you shall come to your fathers in peace. You shall be buried in good old age. And in the fourth generation they shall come here again; for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

Baby boomers are the fourth generation whose iniquity cup has become full and as Jesus says in no way will this generation pass away until all these things have occurred.

By the way if you want to know the imagination of this generation, how wicked they are, one should compare them to what is stated in Genesis 6 as happened during the time of Noah where it stated “Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day long”.

Just take a look at what is streamed at the television and internet. These two modes of communication are used to stream thoughts and I believe that God would say that this generation every imagination of the thoughts of the heart that are streamed through the two modes of communication is only evil all the day long.

This generation and her children who are described as hedonistic, meaninglessly rebellious, looks worse because every imagination of the thoughts of the hearts of this generation is evil and has been visualized through mediums that have also lead other people into darkness and destruction. This in addition to the evils being committed is very great in the face of God which is disheartening to the Spirit of God and the only thing that is remaining is destruction just like Noah generation experienced. And the worst of it the Church has been seduced by these evil imaginations.

Who shall warn this generation of the coming destruction?

The end is nigh we are racing against time, it is already the eleventh hour please prepare your heart for the coming of the Lord. He is coming, prepare your hearts.

A question for you…First, I think we are the church age generation. I think this generation started at the beggining of the new covenent and will not end until the reign of Christ. The true “church” is the born again belivers of Jesus the Christ and has had life restored to themselves as Adam before the fall (regarless of what denomination or church building they attend… So my question is this. Are you saying our society today is like the days of Noah? I dont see how this can be with the true church still on the earth (and i do see how much of organized religion is dead, however that has not kept the spirit of God from revealing, restoring and releasing the kingdom for His glory…In other words, there are many in our Godless society who have God and love Him and do his work. Im also not sure where I stand on the pre, mid, post trib rapture of the church theologies…(or if there is one at all). Im not sure. I have heard the apologies for each and tend to think the antichrist could not reign the way scripture entails unless the true believers were taken out of the way..(2 Thes). That is if the “helper” is indeed the Holy Spirit and thus the church. Anyway, would love to get your thoughts on this.

  2. Joseph Lule says:

To know whether we are like the Noah generation one has to look at what happened in during the time of Noah and Lot and then compare with what is happening today.

    Noah’s Generation
Gen 6:5-8. And Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day long. And Jehovah repented that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart. And Jehovah said, I will wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the earth, from man to beast, to the creeping thing and to the birds of the heavens; for I repent that I made them. And Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah.

Please note Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah. Noah was different and in that he separated himself from the works of those who thought and did evil.
What did those of Noah generation do?

First they was the fall of the sons of God who saw the daughters of men, found them to be good, and they took wives for themselves from all those whom they chose.

And because of the fall of the sons of God they produced giants who were renowned and that the evil of man was great on the earth and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was all evil all the day long.

Jesus also says in Mat 24:37-38 “But as the days of Noah, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as they were in the days before the flood: eating, and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah went into the ark” and in Luk 17:27 “They were eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, until the day Noah went into the ark. And the flood came and destroyed all.”
I would like you to see first that there was a fall or an apostasy of the sons of God who took wives for themselves contrary to the commands of God. They disobeyed God and did their on will and sought after their flesh contrary to the Word of God.
They broke this commandment that Jesus was trying to explain to the Sadducees who came to question Him about resurrection and He told them that as stated in Mat 22:29-30 Jesus answered and said to them, You err, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven.

Please note that the Angels where first referred to as the Sons of God as stated where God was answering Job in Job 38:1-7 And Jehovah answered Job out of the tempest and said:…..Where were you when I founded the earth? Declare if you know understanding. Who has set its dimensions, for you know? Or who has stretched a line on it? On what were its bases sunk? Or who cast its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Yes these Angels who knew who God was, His commands and had witnessed the creation of the universe fell from faith and pursed after flesh and begot giants and because of their deeds evil pervaded and evil was great on the earth and every imagination of the thoughts of every heart was all evil all the day long.

Also note that Jesus said in Mat 24:37-38 “But as the days of Noah, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as they were in the days before the flood: eating, and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah went into the ark”

Their concerns were only eating, and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage and not God for His word says seek the Kingdom of God first and it righteousness and everything shall follow. They pursued earthly things and their concerns were their stomachs.

Not only were they pursing after earthly things their thoughts and actions were continually evil and nobody sought after God except Noah who found grace in the eyes of God.

    Lot’s Generation

Jesus says in Luke 17:28-29 and likewise, as it was in the days of Lot, they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building; but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from the heaven and destroyed all.

Please also note just like Noah who found grace in the eyes of God also as stated in 2Pe 2:7 And He delivered righteous Lot, who had been oppressed by the behavior of the lawless in lustfulness.

What did the people of Sodom and Gomorrah do?

In the Bible it says at Gen 13:13 “And the men of Sodom were evil and sinners before Jehovah, exceedingly so.” And Gen 18:20 “And Jehovah said, The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and their sin is exceedingly heavy.” There evil was so great in the eyes of the Lord.

In Jeremiah 23:14 the Almighty God rebukes what He sees Israel as becoming like Sodom “I have also seen a horrible thing among the prophets of Jerusalem; they commit adultery and walk in falsehood. And they make the hands of evildoers strong, so that not a man returns from his evil. They are all of them like Sodom to Me, and those living in her like Gomorrah.”

This again shows that the people of Sodom had false prophets who committed adultery and walked in falsehood and did not rebuke people to stop sinning but encouraged people to do evil.

Again God says in Ezekiel 16:49-50 “Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and her daughters. Also, she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. Also, they were haughty and did abomination before My face, so I turned them away as I saw fit. “

God again says that the people of Sodom were full of pride, fullness of bread, abundance of idleness, did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy, and they were haughty and did abomination before the eyes of God.

Also as stated in Jud 1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, in like manner to these, committing fornication, and going away after other flesh, laid down an example before-times, undergoing vengeance of everlasting fire.

    What about today generation?

Oh I wish that God may open your eyes and see how terrible and evil this generation is.

First the bible says that 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, because that Day will not come unless first comes the falling away, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition.

This day is the coming of our Lord Jesus and as stated in Luke 17:28-29 “ and likewise, as it was in the days of Lot, they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building; but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from the heaven and destroyed all and Mat 24:37-38 “But as the days of Noah, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as they were in the days before the flood: eating, and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah went into the ark”

What Paul was saying is that before the Lord comes there must be a falling away of the Church who are the sons of God. Basically as stated in Rom 9:25-26 As also He says in Hosea, I will call those Not My people, My people! And those not beloved, Beloved! Hosea 2:23 “And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people, there they will be called, “Sons of the Living God.

The word rendered “falling away” (ἀποστασία apostasia, apostasy), is of so general a character, that it may be applied to any departure from the faith. It occurs in the New Testament only here and in Act_21:21, where it is rendered “to forsake” – “thou teachest all the Jews which are among us to forsake Moses” – apostasy from Moses – ἀποστασίαν ἀπὸ Μωῦσέως apostasian apo Mōuseōs. The word means a departing from, or a defection; see the verb used in 1Ti_4:1, “Some shall depart from the faith”

Paul is saying that before the coming of Christ the Sons of the Living God shall depart from faith in God cleaving to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons, in lying speakers in hypocrisy, being seared in their own conscience, forbidding to marry, saying to abstain from foods, which God created for partaking with thanksgiving by the believers and those knowing the truth.

And just like during the time of Noah, the Sons of God shall depart from faith and seek after earthly treasures cleaving to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons and lying in hypocrisy.

Let’s talk about today’s Church (Sons of God “Born again saints and not the Institutional Churches”), has she departed from faith?

2 Tim 4:3-4 says “For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.”

There is no better way to grasp the fall from the truth into a falsehood, than what is presented in Galatians 3:3. After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain a goal by human effort?

What has lead to the fall has been a rise of the false gospel that focuses the Church onto the earthly living, an earthly gospel which does not focus on heaven, heavenly principles and requirements.

Today’s church has on the contrary lived an affluent life of flamboyancy and post-modernism to the extent that the poor are not welcome. Currently the poor in society have no home in today’s Church that is busy prophesying a grand financial prosperity that they purport will come in the form of new cars, new beach homes, high paying jobs, private aero-planes and all the flamboyant excesses of this world. They are not welcome in today’s churches because most Pastors have claimed that these people are more of takers than givers. This has resulted into instituting of a false gospel that focuses the Church onto the earthly living.
In that way, today’s pastors have lusted at the things of the world thereby forgetting the kingdom of God. It is this that by their definition birthed out the gospel of prosperity that has now been established in the Church.

The global Christian television with its selling of oil, books, trips to holiday vacations, and cruise ship pleasures with barbecues, little ornaments, shawls, miracles, sowing of seeds, and all the commercialization has really made the Church to fall away from faith in the living God.

This false gospel has practically rendered the gospel of the blood and cross at Calvary either totally irrelevant to the lives of these Christians or virtually impractical in their glamorous setting. Choosing to live a holy and meek life of righteousness has today proved to be a great challenge within the Church.

Therefore what has resulted is that there has been the same kind of merry-making, sexual sin, giving in to marriage and sinful defilement like-in the days of Noah’s.

And just like Sodom the Pastors have refused to rebuke sin’s that the Church is committing and thereby many have become comfortable in their sin believing that they will go to heaven in their evil state. What the Pastors are now concerned with is money and influence and very afraid of rebuking sin in the Church and the worst is that now there is rampant acceptance of sin in the Church.

Take for example when the Church let homosexuality to go scott-free and virtually unrebuked, to the world that was a green signal that homosexuality could now be institutionalized, without shame and living in illusion they believed that they will not be affected by this abomination as it slipped to other denominations and in the real sense slipped into the Church of Christ. Apostasy has today reached a new high in which even openly gay homosexual pastors and bishops are being ordained at the pulpit. Exactly this is what Jesus meant when he said that many will fall away from the true faith and turn to a false form of Christianity which lacks in holiness.

Another example is what is happening in the youth Church where the youth are told to be modern and learn how to impact the world by being knowledgeable of worldly things and has resulted to the rise of sexual sin, rap music, reggae music, rock music, drug addiction, alcoholism, pornography, immorality, dirty language, slutty dressing, filthy dancing, name it, among the Christian youth.

Another example is the rise of slutty dressing among Christians that is encouraged by Pastors who say that women should not worry about how they dress because they claim that God does not look at people‘s dressing but the heart. While that may be a scriptural quotation, it is also important to factor in Matthew 5:27-28. Says “You have heard that it was said to the ancients: “Do not commit adultery.” But I say to you, everyone looking at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” This in itself calls for responsibility among Christians whereby we are called to ensure that we do not become a stumbling block to others.

And this should be a caution to today pastors as while Eli was a God fearing man whose righteous standing with the Lord impressed many, his failure to rebuke sexual sin in the house of the Lord however, earned him eternal damnation.

What has happened is that the Church has brought defiled sacrifices in the name of the wealth transfer, the false gospel of prosperity, the gospel of false prophets, immorality, the display of major credit cards as the pastors preach on global Christian television, the worldly dancing of rap and reggae in scanty dressing among the youth of the church, abortions in church, witchcraft among other things to God.

Such is the apostasy of this time that the love of many has waxed cold. A burning candle becomes hot and flows in its content but waxing cold means no more burning, nor more Light emitted and hence dead Christianity.

By referring to many the Lord implied the majority of God’s own people who would in the last days let the love of Christ wax cold in their hearts, to the extent that other idols (like material things) would be exalted higher than the Lord, in their lives.

What has resulted has been the development of a Luke-warm Church that is very comfortable in her state and this Lukewarm Church has created a myriad of activities around the life of a Christian to the point that in most cases the believers would get more focused on the earthly realm than heaven.

And as Jesus says in Rev 3:16-17 “So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, I am rich, and I am made rich, and I have need of nothing, and do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.”

By the way one should notice that to this Church, Jesus is standing outside the heart and not inside His temple and that is why He says in Rev 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will enter to him, and I will dine with him, and he with Me.”

And just like the Sons of God in the book of Genesis this Church is in pursuit of earthly things and engaging in sin thereby becoming salt that is trodden down on, as now there is no light that shines where darkness pervades.

If you can see, the Spirit of God is telling the Church to go back to its foundation of the blood and carrying the daily cross and crucifying the flesh but because she has become deaf and blind and has sought her own path, she has fallen from faith in God and thereby allowed darkness to engulf the whole world.

But please remember Jehovah has left only a remnant that has not defiled her dress as stated in Isa 1:9 Except Jehovah of Hosts had left a remnant for us, a few, we would be as Sodom; we would be as Gomorrah. And because of the wickedness of the Church they will only deliver their souls as stated in Eze 14:20 though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, as I live, declares the Lord Jehovah, they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they by their righteousness would deliver only their souls.

Because the Church has fallen away and the light is slowly dying off, darkness in the world has grown and remember that only the Church that walks in the spirit can be able restrain evil with the help of the Holy Spirit. It is as though the greatest dispensation of darkness has now befallen the earth especially that sin and iniquity has become absolutely rampant in the church.
    Darkness in the world
In the days before the flood the Lord sent Noah to warn people about the coming judgment However, there was so much darkness of sin in those days to such an extent that Noah’s warning was not heeded. People were giving into marriage, merry-making, sexual sin and all form of sinful defilement, year-in year-out as what is happening now. This went on until the day the wrath of God descended upon the earth.
Without salvation the heart of man is evil and I would say like I stated before the sins of the world is very great in the sight of God. There are just too many things that are being done by the world and as stated in the article:-
“By the way if you want to know the imagination of this generation, how wicked they are, one should compare them to what is stated in Genesis 6 as happened during the time of Noah where it stated “Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day-long”.
Just take a look at what is streamed at the television and internet. These two modes of communication are used to stream thoughts and I believe that God would say that this generation every imagination of the thoughts of the heart that are streamed through the two modes of communication is only evil all the day long.”
We are really living as in the days of Noah and Lot.

  3. liferestored says:

Thank you Joseph. I agree with what you have put into words and the Spirit tells me you are a heart after God. What the “church” is today is the biggest thing that supports your statments of the falling away. I also think this is the case. The spirit of the anti=christ is at hand and has been for some time. For instance… Through my my studies and prayer i have also realized the “tithe” of the church is an extention of what you are saying. In the 18th century the pope declared that the bishops could claim the Levitical priesthood and thus 10% of income could be claimed; so cathedrals and salaries of the priests could be established. Of course i am not saying not to give…I believe I am blessed when I, or any other gives. What I am saying it has been distorted and used by the enemy. And the “buisness” side of the “church” is unscriptural.

As far as sin: Has Jesus paid the price for the sin of the WORLD? yes. scripture sais so. Did the thief say to Jesus == please forgive me for my sins? No. He asked Jesus if he would remember him in his Glory. When Jesus was asked what could be done to be saved…He did not say “ask forgivness of you sin” SIN is dead on the cross. We must confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus is Lord. So..It is not sin that sends this generation to the second death, it is not accepting the salvation of the living God. Jesus.

When we are restored to life as Adam before the fall…the Spirit of God changes us and leads us to a life of what God intended full of blessing and peace; not sin. Unfortunatly we will not experience a life of NO SIN until we are with our KING for eternity. David said he had sin in his heart he was not even aware of. Sin is sin. I am not a HOLY man in the sight of the “church”. However, God has changed me, continues to change me for the Glory of his Kingdom. And…gives me peace and JOY.

Anyway, thank you. Absolutly loved your post.

  4. astudent says:

    liferestored,

Please do not be angry with me. If you have read even a little of what I write, you know that I like everything as perfect as can possibly be. So I must disagree with some of what you said.

You said that it is not sin that sends this generation to the second death, but it is just that.

It is sin that separates us from God. If one turns to Christ, the penalty for their sin has been paid and if they do not accept the gift that God paid such a high price for, then they will be separated from God and that is the second death.

Jesus didn’t destroy sin; he only paid the penalty for those who aren’t too proud to admit the truth: that we are sinners in need of a Savior.

Your conclusion is perfectly correct, “It is not sin that sends this generation to the second death, it is not accepting the salvation of the living God. Jesus.” However, the greatest sin is not turning to God after He even allowed His only begotten son to be murdered so that we can be saved.

All sin can and will be forgiven except the unforgivable one. Luke 12:10 (NIV) “And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.”

When we are baptized into Christ, we are given the Holy Spirit, to teach us all things. It seems to me that to refuse the Holy Spirit is to blaspheme against Him and that will not be forgiven.

Astudent. No way brother! I would never get “angry” with you for disagreeing with me…as I myself often disagree with myself! ha. About the Blaspheme against the Holy Spirit; The Pharisees were saying Jesus cast away a demon by using the power of Satan. You have bridged the gap with your answer about Not accepting Christ as the savior is today’s Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit as most of the church’s teachings today do. Blasphemy in the Gospel of john used the term “blasphemy” in a way that was culturally correct. Jesus claimed to be God and to the Pharisees this was blasphemy. By claiming our Spirit is the “Holy Spirit” and denying the restoration of life by rejecting the reason Jesus came to our earth cannot be forgiven. This is what the Pharisees were doing. They were witnessing a miracle that the prophets had taught them only God could do…. They were not just rejecting who Jesus said he was but what he was there to do..Restore the Spirit and give life to the dead to those who will accept what Jesus was there for. So I think we say the same thing in this regard. Restoration of the Holy Spirit is salvation and to deny this is unforgivable..

    About sin and salvation;

This is where I have recently changed my own views a little. Please understand I have become a little less in line with what mainstream Christianity teaches; mostly by the teachings and writings of some Messianic Jewish teachings that (i believe to be) the Holy Spirit has confirmed within my own heart and understanding. I think this issue has been the most radical of my view changes but I am in no way telling you are wrong….because I think our total understanding of this Grace is limited. Until the day we can talk and walk with our God (in his presence for eternity) I think then we will have a better understanding.

(By the way, do you think this is why a fallen angel (or) Satan himself could never repent and be saved?? Because when they rebelled against God; they HAD the full knowlage of God and made their decisions anyway)? Sorry for the rabbit trail. They plauge me.

    Back to sin and salvation:

Salvation was offered to the world. Sin and Death were defeated when Jesus rose again! When we truly realize this, we take the battleground completely away from Satan…our minds. Satan wins in this arena continually because he always tells us how unworthy we are because of our sin. Also (I now accept) by the church always saying “What would Jesus do” is almost the same thing Satan did in the Garden when he told Adam and Eve they could “be like God”. The apple has been changed to “not sinning”. When in reality, you and I brother will Never be without sin in this life. And as you know, sin is sin. Whether its murder, slander, lust, greed, or just plain over indulgence. I am not saying to “sin so Grace may abound”. What I suggest is what leads us from sin is loving our God before any others..Leaning into the Holy Spirit and we are truley CHANGED from within. The Holy spirit has restored life to me and I (as you) are now enjoying the Life that Adam had before the fall. Was there sin in Adams world before his rebellion? No; God asked him– who told you that you were naked? Adam spiritually died this day and sin was now an accountable issue. The entire old Testament is God revealing this and without HIM there is no salvation. He had to give salvation Himself – we either accept it or not. By this majestic act of Love by the sacrifice of our Lord and thus Abba Father Himself – I think sin is no longer an issue for those who have been restored (as Adam before the fall). It is only an issue for the dead..So I think for now I will continue on this journey of understanding that it is not “sin” that sends the unbeliever to the second death, only the unbelief and thus Beilieving our spirit is the Holy one..and there is no need for salvation.

One of the teachings you may or maynot be interested in is from a guy named Aaron Budjen. He was on his way to being a Rabbi and realized Jesus was truly the savior and was saved. Anyway, he has an insight I have really enjoyed and if you wish to listen to some of the reason I have changed my views on this topic…here it is.

To Liferestored and Astudent I saw your comments and thought of doing some digging and thought I would share this with you.

    Sin and Salvation.

    What is sin?
Rom 14:23 “…..whatever is not of faith is sin.”

What is faith? It is described in Heb 11:1 that “Now faith is the essence of things being hoped, the evidence of things not having been seen”.
The essence of things hoped for is God our blessed assurance. Faith is the belief in God and to do whatever is in ones heart which is the Word of God which should march with works.
In simple terms faith is looking unto God and anything that looks unto other things apart from God is sin. Sin is looking unto oneself and not God. It is the placing of faith on oneself and other things and stated in (Psalm 34:5) “Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame”
Therefore one would say that sin may be defined as the lack of faith in God.
God created us with faces that have the unique ability of reflecting to others the things that we cherish deepest in our hearts. Whatever holds your affections, and arouses your highest admiration; whatever it is that has captured your attention and become the focus of your desires — it will be seen on your face.
Some people love money, and their faces are marred with greed and avarice. Others drool after sex, and walk about with faces reddened by lust. Other love only themselves and cast forth a countenance of arrogance and contempt for others. And on and on it goes, for our world is filled with many, many faces.
Sin resided first with our Accuser who beguiled Adam into disbelieving God’s Word and as stated in Rom 5:12 …….sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death passed to all men, inasmuch as all sinned. In this Adam failed to have faith in God and sin entered Man as he looked more at himself believing he could be as God knowing good and evil.
Sin therefore resides in the heart and takes the place of faith that holds our admiration for God. Sin takes the place of God and holds our affection away from God. It arouses our admiration to ourselves and other things which do not belong to God and with that the focus drives away from God and having fully formed brings forth death.
That is why it is stated that sin separates us from God.

Therefore as stated in James 1:15 ….having conceived lust brings forth sin. And sin being fully formed brings forth death.

In 1Co 15:56 the bible shows that the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.

For until the Law sin was in the world. Therefore death reigned from Adam to Moses and the Law entered that the offence might bound but where sin abounded, grace abounded much more. Sin that it may appear sin was producing death in Man through what is good so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.

Sin took what was good and worked lust (the desire for self and things other than God) and deceived Man and through it brought death.
Romans 8: 3-4 states that For the Law being powerless, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteous demand of the Law might be fulfilled in us, those not walking according to flesh, but according to Spirit

That is why Jesus came to earth and by His death He brought us closer to God by looking unto Him so that we can know Him. By His death He directed people to God and sin had no power over the people as long as they looked unto Him.
That is why it said that sin cannot reside in His presence because in His nature we are bound to cherish and adore Him and like a fire He consumes sin. The more His presence is in us the more sin is revealed, judged and driven away. His presence allows us to adore Him and the more we are in presence the more we are like Him.
And as stated as we continually look at Him we become radiant like Him and as stated by liferestored “we take the battleground completely away from Satan…our minds”
That is why it is celebrated that Jesus defeated death as it had no power over Him. He knew no sin as His object of desire was His Father and to do the will of the Father. And because He knew no sin He was the perfect Lamb offered for the sins of Mankind as stated in 1 peter 1:19 …as a lamb without blemish and without spot.

And as above I would say that sin which is unbelief will send this generation to destruction.

As stated in Rom 1:18-21 For God’s wrath is revealed from Heaven on all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, holding the truth in unrighteousness, because the thing known of God is clearly known within them, for God revealed it to them. For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things made, both His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse. Because knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful. But they became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened.

And by the way God gave them up a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity…. because they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge as stated in Rom 1:28-32.

In simple terms God wrath is revealed to anyone who would not believe in Jesus Christ.

In simple terms, I whole heartedly agree with you!
