I do not usually write about myself, but I have reached a point in my quest for understanding that I believe it is necessary to explain how I reached this point.

When I was very young my mother sent me to church every Sunday. I only had to attend what we called Sunday school. I did not stay for the regular church service, because it was not required by my parents. They did not attend, because my father was not a believer and he wanted my mother to be home, to prepare his breakfast. So, I was taught some understanding of the Bible.

When I reached an age that I could rebel and stop attending Sunday school I did.

Much later in life I began to wonder if there really was a God and I started to listen to sermons on the radio while I was driving. There was a radio station that actually read from the Bible, but it stopped, probably because there was no money in/for it.

One program invited anyone that listened to attend the regular church service and I thought it a good idea, so I began to attend.

It seemed as though every sermon was directed to me. God was using the preacher to reach me and I came to the conclusion that I should be baptized.

After I was baptized the sermons no longer seemed directed specifically at me. I know now that it was because I had been given the Holy Spirit to teach me all things and I no longer need a man to teach me. (John 2:27) Actually the preacher did not teach me anything, but convinced me that I needed to repent and be baptized.

Then a very enthusiastic prophecy teacher came to the church that I was attending and I attended every one of his sermons. If I remember correctly he gave a sermon everyday for four days and at the end of the last one he could barely speak. His enthusiasm was contagious. I had not even considered the Old Testament and the teacher’s words and understanding amazed me.

This started me on my quest to understand everything about God and His Word that I could. I told my Father that I wanted to know everything and asked Him to teach me everything. At that time I did not know that He had already given me The Teacher to do just that!

I have head my brothers indicate and even say they do not want to know everything! To that I can only say, “What a complete waste of the gift of the Holy Spirit.” If God did not want us to know everything, He would not have given us a Teacher to teach us everything.

Now, hold on to your hats, because I am about to say something that you have never heard before and if you are not patient you will stop listing and you may not understand what I am about to say.

When I was only a man, before I was baptized, my beginnings could be traced back to Adam and from Adam to dust. Now, dust is only a nice way of saying dirt. But when I was baptized God planted His Seed in me. It was only a Seed and unless it grows it will not be the mature Seed that He wants.

When a seed is planted it should be watered and I was born of the water and the Spirit. (John 3:5&6)

Any seed needs good ground in order to mature and even bad ground can become good if it is fertilized. The Word of God is the only nutrient that a Spiritual plant will accept and I have continued to ingest the Word and the Spirit that lives in me and is part of me has grown. At the same time the dirt that was me has been replaced with the Spirit; the Spirit has increased and the dirt has decreased.

One day, in the near future, my Father is going to harvest me. He is going to lift me up and brush away the remaining dirt from me and I will be the spirit that He has wanted since the time He made me. I will be like Jesus (1Peter 2:4&5).

The first time I was born, I was born a human being and I was called a man. The second time I was born I was born of the Spirit. (John 4:24) If I was called a man, because I was born from man, then what would you call me if I was born from God? Would you call me a god? God does call me a god (Psalms 82 & John 10:34&35). The Word of God has come to me and I am a god.

That is not to say there is more than one God. The one God is in me and that makes me a child of the one God and therefore a god, but it does not make me God.

Daniel asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?” and he was told, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.”

This is the time of the end and the Word is no longer sealed. Now we can know all things. That is if you believe that you can. After all you were given the Holy Spirit to teach you all things, so believe that you can and search all things out.

Wow, I believe your last paragraph to be especially true and “search all things out”. Very important.

  2. astudent says:

Few of our brothers understand as well as you, but I pray that they will also take advantage of the Spirit and also grow in the Lord.

    Thanks for sticking around.

    Hi astudent,

I am really only beginning to understand. I now know there is so much more to learn and I get great satisfaction in that knowing and find a deep joy in the doing.

What was important, was to do what I was being told I should do. One of the ways of doing this was to “search all things out”. I had to begin physically proving as well as just reading and trying to understand. If we trust in what God says to be true, we do what he says. If we don’t do, we don’t really believe God (Your last post).

(James 2:17) Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

*It is always a pleasure to get a different outlook on things. Looking inside the box, only finds what is inside the box.

(Eze 47:3) And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.

*Indeed, prayers for our brethren are in order. The river is beginning to flow.

  4. creationwitness says:

Sorry to diverge from the above, but I need to ask an important question. Do you have any experience with demonic spirits?

  5. astudent says:

Ha, that is out of the box.

Truth is I have not had any experience with demonic spirits; that I know of.

I am sure that demonic spirits would overpower me, if they could, but my Lord and Savior will not allow it.

Having said that it seems clear that they exist in the world today. The people that are killing in the name of Allah are certainly demon possessed.

Your question has caused me to think about and consult the Bible about casting out demons, which is what I believe that you are seeking.

I must say that I am part man, so do not take anything that I say as the whole truth.

First, (Mark 16:17 NIV) “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues”, so we have the power to cast out demons.

However, there are other things to consider. (Luke 11:24-26 NIV) “When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first.”

It might be that some of those who are demon possessed want to be. If a demon is driven out of a person and that person does not ask the Holy Spirit to come in and live with them, then the demons will take over the person (house) again. To drive an evil spirit out of someone, when they do not want to turn to God would only hurt them rather than help them.

Then there is the question of how to accomplish the task. If we stand before the demon possessed person and demand the evil spirit come out, we have changed our role of servant to master and that does not seem right to me. It seems right to ask God to drive out the evil spirit, and God would know if that person was going to ask Him into their life, so one would not have to worry about the demons coming back.
Jesus said that he cast out demons with the Spirit and finger of God and I think we should also. (Mat 12:28 NIV) “But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” (Luke 11:20 NIV) “But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.”

Then we have a problem that those in the time of Jesus did not seem to have. They knew about demons, but the people of this day do not understand, about God or Satan.

If we tell someone that they are possessed they may use it as an excuse to do what ever they want to do and then blame the demon for their own actions.

So, I would only pray and ask God to cast out others demons and place my trust in Him to do what ever He knows is right in the matter.

So, one could say that I was responsible for the demon being cast out, but I really was only responsible for wanting the demon cast out.

(Mark 9:29 NIV) He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”

I believe in being as safe as I can when handling the Word of God. So, I think that I will assume all demons are “This kind” and I will ask God to cast them out.

That was a great question and I am better because you asked it.

Thanks, you always seem to help me.

  6. creationwitness says:

In turn I must thank you too. You always give me another way of looking at things and I can see by the length of your reply that you didn’t take my question lightly. It gives me much more food for thought.

This is what I know about the matter in no given order:

The devils are very clever. They take advantage of people when they have the least control over themselves ie. on drugs , alcohol or in an angry rage. They will provoke you by mocking you and God. They mock God in a way that seems like you are the one possessed by the demon and they are on the side of Jesus Christ and God. They do not like the mention of the name of Jesus Christ. They will do their best to anger you. They do not seem to fear putting Satan himself down. They use very antagonistic tactics.

This is important: They know what the possessed person is thinking. They know their dreams as well. They have a good idea of what others are thinking, but they are only guessing. I believe them to be dangerous to both the possessed person and those around them.

I personally had been possessed before my conversion a few years back. I didn’t know I had been possessed until a few of my loved ones told me what I was doing while inebriated on alcohol. At first I did not believe what they were saying until I was shown what I had been writing. I have since repented, follow Sabbath with deep commitment, quit drinking and smoking and have changed my life to live in Christ. One thing to add here; they came back in force (as you outlined in scripture) and temporarily took possession of many of the people around me, but only those with weakness. Mostly prone to anger or scorn. It seems they are very disgusted with people being weak to sin and take advantage of it. They love to make sinners sin even more.

The one that I have identified this time possessed a person prone to deep seated anger and disgust with other people. Especially with those professing Christianity. He had been known to talk bad about our colored friends doing so in a manner as to disguise his own hatred by saying “No, that is how other people talk about them.”. It didn’t admit it’s name, but made jokes regarding to the possessed persons thoughts.

The bible gives us a warning:

(Act 19:13 KJV) Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

(Act 19:14 KJV) And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

(Act 19:15 KJV) And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

(Act 19:16 KJV) And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Please note in verse 13. These are unconverted people, but I would still be very cautious. As I said before they know what people are thinking. That means they know when, where and why a person is weak. I am not trying to place any fear in anyone. Only great caution. One must be converted to confront them.

It is best to fast and pray. I did this for a 24 hour period and have not heard a word back for over 48 hours. I was previously receiving at least one email each day prior to praying. Had I been physically present, I believe it may have tried to harm me physically. It made many threats through email.

Our bible translations differ. I do not think one is better than the other. I just have a preference. When in question I always refer to a few different translations to gain a better understanding. I hope everyone does.

(Mat 17:21 KJV) Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

(Mar 9:29 KJV) And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

In this case I took the side of caution and also fasted. At this point I can only caution anyone that is having a similar experience. If you don’t know what you are doing, do not fool around with it! That is not saying that I know any better. Anyone reading this now knows pretty much what I know and that is not enough. I have also consulted with another learned person and they have answered me much the same as you. Thank you both.

The one in Acts knew these men were not converted. It also knew how to weaken them through intimidation.

They despise a strong person in Christ. They hate truth. They love strife. Any God confessing Christian that is prone to any weakness is in danger. I think we are going to see more of this. I know that I am seeing more. We need to be prepared.

P.S. Other evil spirits most likely have different

    Thanks again,

Pray always, blessings in Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God.

  7. creationwitness says:

Sorry…P.S. Other evil spirits most likely have different personalities.

  8. astudent says:

It sounds like you have been more observant than I have been.

You make a great point about using more than one translation. I am used to the NIV and usually read it, but I have found some verses that are slightly different from the KJV, which comes from the original language.

To illustrate differences Matthew 17:21 is not in the NIV and Mark 9:29 says nothing about fasting! And that is why I also compare translations.

  9. creationwitness says:

The KJV is my only hard copy bible and I started with it, so tend to use it more often. Other tools such as the free e-Sword application are now also invaluable.

    An update:

The person in question is still in possession. I believe what you said earlier is true: and I quote “It might be that some of those who are demon possessed want to be.” I think this is the case. I was also told by another brother that the person must want to clean themselves and must be willing to repent and said “sometimes they need to hit rock bottom before this happens”.

Some other things we can keep in mind:

Some of them know scripture and some of them know it very well. This one indeed does. It has possessed a person with this knowledge. I believe they revel in this as it makes it easier for them to hide amongst us and turn others away from Jesus Christ (We have all met the unconverted Christian at one time or another). This is not to say an unconverted person cannot later convert. I am a testament to that and overcame possession by repentance.

They enjoy influencing us to commit sin and they find disgust in sinners. This seems contradictory, but it is not. Satan hates man and one of the reasons may be that we are weak to sin. To follow Jesus Christ we must abide by his every Word. Love one another. Do not fight evil with evil. Hate the sin (evil) not the sinner.

This verse shows what you are saying is correct and I quote you again. “So, I would only pray and ask God to cast out others demons and place my trust in Him to do what ever He knows is right in the matter.”

(Jud 1:9 KJV) Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Fast, pray and let God do his work according to his will.

We must be strong and keep ourselves clean. If and when we sin, repent immediately asking God’s forgiveness. Know our weakness and be strong in Jesus Christ.

    Blessings all

I also started with the KJV. The radio station that read the Bible, read from the NIV and because it was the language that I spoke it seemed clearer. The church that invited me to attend also used the NIV, as does the church that I now attend. So, I usually use the NIV.

I stopped using hard copies as they fell apart in practically no time and the computer versions do not wear out (though computers themselves do). I also use e-Sword and as usual I have an old favorite. It is called Quickverse which will no longer work on any Windows operating system after XP and only on XP with a fix.

I might start using the NKJV, because it does not leave out verses as the NIV does. What ever version that one uses seems to become the favorite after a while.

The NIV is an example of how easy man is to corrupt. It began as a noble project. That is to translate the Bible into the language that the people actually spoke and used, but it was quickly corrupted by those who wanted to serve both God and money.

They managed to acquire copyright protection on the NIV. Does anyone else realize how ridiculous a copyright on the Word of God is?

Well, one gets a copyright in order to force others to pay a fee to use it. That is trying to serve both God and money! Perhaps that would not have happened if those that translated the NIV understood the words instead of understanding the language the words were written in.

OK, that was my rant for the day.

I think that Satan hates man, because God made man ruler over him (Gen 1:28). Satan was more crafty than all of the wild animals that God made (Gen 3:1) and he was proud of it. It must have really galled him to be subjected to the rule of man; because he was so sure he was the superior of all. It also made him hate God for appointing man as his superior.

Well, that is how I see it now. I try not to say that is just how it is as I am still learning and sometimes, as I learn and see more clearly, what I once thought of as truth I see as slightly flawed. That is my understanding of truth, but truth is truth and does not change: it is my understanding that changes.

I believe that we only have to do two things to please our Father. Love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love others as we love ourselves. I do not believe that He requires us to be strong or even clean, because He knows that we are neither strong nor clean.

If I could obey completely those two rules I would be both strong and clean, but sense I am still partly man and therefore cannot be clean, I am sure God will accept the sacrifice of Jesus as payment for my sin.
